Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams during the season.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events in 2025 due to a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training will involve coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together in 2026.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Her movement was far from freely in the third set in the match with Zhu due to back discomfort that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 victories this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
