Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
