Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.
My son advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
