Although Germany's populace traditionally possessed a reputation as the continent's most enthusiastic nudists, recent survey data indicates that Danish individuals not just more accepting about stripping off in public, and also more inclined to have engaged in it.

Open Countryside Attitudes

Participants from Denmark also demonstrated more acceptance toward nudity in the open countryside. In contrast, most people in other countries – ranging from fifty-eight percent in the German population to seventy-eight percent in British respondents – regarded walking unclothed in nature as not acceptable.

Skinny Dipping Practices

When it comes to swimming naked in the sea, lakes or rivers, Denmark's residents demonstrated noticeably the highest tolerance. Approximately sixty-four percent considered the practice perfectly acceptable, versus only 25% of people from Italy, thirty-one percent of French people, thirty-two percent of UK residents along with 49% of German participants.

Personal Experience Levels

Danes didn't just express positive views but also showed significant engagement rates. Upon questioning about in what seven settings they had personally been naked as grown-ups, over 50% of Danish participants reported at least one instance.

That compared with 45% of Germans along with forty-four percent of Spanish people. Despite decreasing popularity in modern times, Germany still stands as one of most permissive countries internationally for public nudity in designated spaces. Areas of shorelines, lakefronts plus campgrounds are officially set aside for clothing-optional recreation.

Designated Naturist Sites

Research indicated that just twelve percent of Danish respondents had stripped off in dedicated naturist sites such as shorelines or campsites. That was higher than British involvement at 6%, paralleled French percentages at 14% along with Italian at eleven percent, but remained lower than Spain's twenty-two percent plus Germany's twenty-five percent.

Openness to Future Nudity

Participants from Denmark furthermore demonstrated more openness to engage in stripping off in open spaces going forward. Around half declared they would be willing to undress in a open space, compared with 42% of German respondents, 38% of Spaniards, 34% of French people along with twenty-nine percent of each of British people plus Italian participants.

Demographic Variations

Across all surveyed nations, male participants exhibited greater enthusiasm compared to female participants regarding stripping off. Age-related differences also were evident: In Denmark, youth were more open to naturism, while in German society the opposite pattern prevailed.
