The Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Super Form According to the Zodiac Sign
The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the game's launch, to trainers developing firm views on the full roster of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly selected for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes the Ram far more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and benefit from a strong partner; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its regular and Super Form, has aided numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed love of snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Look at this total queen. You cannot convince me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's incredibly simple to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite similar to a people-smart Twins.
The Crab – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for frequently becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being too glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Fans were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with constant acid reflux. The sign famous for being endearingly critical is strongly mirrored across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you inform them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this sweet, sensitive being, who employs the sensors on its ears to detect how others are emotionally by their pulse. Always empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's skills. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them stress more about others.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it became consciousness through pure resentment and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. According to the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal match with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. Being a Archer personally, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to foresee disasters in advance? That gives the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who often consistently believe they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-flame sign that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous memes about the Archer and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Spirit/Flame typing matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
